Joining a gym is a big decision! To ensure you make the right choice and get the most out of your membership we want you to make certain Northern Arena is the right choice for you.
Northern Arena has a range of fitness memberships encompassing the full range of exercise options to suit everyone from families to the individual. Whether you’d like to dive in for a swim, push some tin in the gym, get amongst it in group fitness, train the FUNctional way, splash about in Aqua Aerobics or find inner bliss with Yoga, every option is included for your enjoyment. Plus, with every membership we provide you with a ‘Healthy Start 7 Day Meal Plan’ to help you kick start your fitness journey.
Our varied and flexible range of fitness memberships allow you to choose from month-to-month to annual memberships with convenient direct debit monthly payments. We also understand that sometimes you can get sick or injured or you go away for an extended holiday which is why all our fitness memberships are flexible to allow you freedom to put them on hold if you are unable to attend.

How much is a membership?
Gym membership prices vary and are dependent on different criteria. Give our friendly membership team a call on 09 421 9700 to find out the rate best for you.
Do you have personal trainers? How much do they charge?
Yes, personal trainers are an additional cost to your membership. Prices vary so it’s best to speak to our membership team as they can put you in touch with a personal trainer to suit you and your goals.
Do you have childcare available?
Unfortunately we no longer have childcare options available.
Do you charge extra for group fitness classes?
There are no extra charges for any of our group fitness classes, all group fitness classes are included in your membership.
I see some classes require booking, how do I book a group fitness classes?
Some classes require booking due to limited numbers available and superior tuition, simply click on the icon on the timetable and that will take you to the booking form.
What do I do if a class is fully booked?
We have a waitlist option available, simply complete the form and we will notify you if a space becomes available.
What do I do if I cannot make my class booking?
If you are unable to make your booking please notify us as soon as possible via phone on 094219700 or email email@example.com
Is access to the pool included in my membership?
Yes, with a membership you have access to the pool during SwimFit sessions. See the group fitness timetable for SwimFit session times.
Can I come in and swim anytime I want?
We have set members only swimming times. See the group fitness timetable for session times. During those times you can use the pools.
Can I pay less just to use the pools?
Our fully comprehensive memberships include all gym access, group fitness classes and the use of the pools during SwimFit times.
Can I suspend my membership?
Yes, you must give us one week’ s written notice. Memberships can be suspended for a minimum of 2 weeks and maximum of 3 months, per 12 month calendar year. If you suspend within minimum term. If you are within your minimum term these suspension days will be added to your minimum term date. Email our friendly gym team and they will be able to sort this for you firstname.lastname@example.org
What if I move within my minimum term?
If you relocate more than 50 kilometres away from the facility, then we can cancel your membership within the minimum term period. Email our friendly gym team and they will be able to sort this for you email@example.com
What if I get injured and can no longer use the facilities?
If you become sick or injured where you cannot exercise for either 12 months or the rest of your minimum term, we can cancel your membership upon provision of a medical certificate. Email our friendly gym team and they will be able to sort this for you firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do I get a special rate if my family member is already a gym member at Northern Arena?
We do offer a special rate for immediate family members of current gym members, enquire here.
Do I get a special rate if my kids swim in the swim school?
We do offer a special rate for immeadiate family members of swim school members, enquire here.
How old do you have to be to join the gym?
You need to be 13 years of age or over to join the gym. For anyone under 18 a parent or guardian must sign the membership agreement.
How old do I have to be to qualify for a senior’s membership?
You qualify for a seniors membership when you reach 65 years of age. Identification will be required when joining.
Are yoga mats provided in the yoga classes?
For hygiene purposes we suggest you bring your own yoga mat or you can use a towel.
Do you have yoga blocks?
Yes we have yoga blocks available to use.
Do you have a sauna and spa?
Our facilities do not include a spa, sauna or steam room.
Do you offer nutrition plans?
When you join the fitness family we will email you a 7 Day Healthy Eating Meal Plan along with nutritional guidelines to help you make informed decisions on your eating habits.
Do you run bootcamps?
From time to time throughout the year, where we give nutrition guidelines, plans and bootcamps to kickstart your journey. Otherwise we recommend a personal trainers who can offer you some advice to get you started.
