​Babies love the water – there’s no better time to start.

Give your baby the greatest start to life in the water you can with parent and baby/ toddler swimming classes.

The Northern Arena baby swim classes and toddler swimming lessons focus on getting your baby comfortable in the water and teaching them basic co-ordination as well as early awareness and survival skills. It’s also fantastic fun – games, songs, and entertaining activities make every moment enjoyable.

These infant swimming lessons are a great opportunity to strengthen gross & fine motor skills, enhance coordination & balance, provide positive encouragement, help develop social skills, improve cognitive development and because you’re in the swimming pool with them, it’s a great bonding experience for *you and your baby.

Each child has an adult partner in the baby pool with them – a parent, family member, or caregiver over the age of 16 years. You will learn to hold, move, and submerge your baby safely.

Northern Arena’s baby pool is nice and warm so that both you and your water baby remain comfortable throughout your lesson. The water in the baby's pool is treated by ultraviolet light (similar to the way our drinking water is treated) meaning there are extremely low levels of chlorine which is much nicer on sensitive skin.

​​​Once your baby learns to love being in the water, they’re in a great position to begin to learn to swim.

*Caregiver must be a minimum of 16 years of age. 
Due to the progressive nature of the babies programme, we do not take bookings after the 4th week of the quarter.
