Important Facility Update: Temporary Closure of The Yard & Hot Water Upgrade

🚧 Temporary Closure of The Yard
From mid-July through to approximately October/November, The Yard will be temporarily closed while essential construction work is carried out alongside the building.
The project involves repairing and stabilising the retaining wall adjacent to Northern Arena. To complete this work safely, contractors will require access to The Yard and surrounding areas throughout the construction period.
We understand this space is a valued part of the facility, and we appreciate that this temporary closure may be disappointing for some members. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while these important improvements are completed.
Construction is planned to run through to end of October, however we will provide regular updates as milestones are reached.

What does this mean for members?
❌ The Yard will be unavailable during construction.
✅ Gym, pools, swim school, and group fitness classes will continue to operate as normal.
✅ Outdoor classes and training sessions that usually take place on the YARD will be relocated or modified during this period. We will communicate any changes directly on the timetable.
🚘 Parking Information
As part of the project, some work will also need to be carried out within the lower and upper car parks at various stages throughout the construction period.
This may result in temporary reductions to available parking spaces from time to time. We will work closely with contractors to minimise disruption wherever possible and will try to provide advance notice of any significant impacts to parking access.
👀 Looking Ahead
Once construction is complete, The Yard and turf will be fully reinstated and ready to enjoy again.
This work is essential, and will ensure the long-term safety and integrity of the facility. Completing it now, we'll ensure we'll be ready to make the most of the warmer months ahead, with outdoor training, HYROX preparation, events, and Yard sessions returning stronger than ever!
We will continue to keep you updated as the project progresses and timelines become more defined.
🔥 Hot Water System Upgrade Please be aware that this does NOT effected pool water temperature.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the member experience, we have made a significant investment in upgrading our domestic hot water infrastructure to increase capacity, improve reliability, and provide greater temperature stability throughout the facility.
Unfortunately, due to supplier lead times and international shipping delays, the new system is not expected to arrive in New Zealand until October.
In the meantime, during the colder winter months and periods of particularly high demand, some members may occasionally experience variations in shower water temperature.
We want to assure you that our team does not manually reduce or adjust shower temperatures. These fluctuations occur when the existing system is placed under exceptional demand or experiences overnight operational issues.
Our team actively monitors the system and responds promptly to any issues that arise. We continue to do everything possible to maintain a comfortable and consistent experience while we await the arrival and installation of the upgraded equipment.
